Collision Course
by John Michael Ray

Set out, one fine evening
Expecting just the same
Was mesmerized, left barely breathing
You called out my name
When I looked into your eyes
My soul began to yearn
When we said our sweet goodbyes
You said you would return

On a collision course with a shooting star
A fireball across my nighttime sky
That bears an angel of hope and mercy
To spread her wings, teach me to fly

Woke up, one new morning
Seemed my world had changed
Out of the blue, no prior warning
Life was rearranged
Came right at me like a shot
A bat straight out of hell
Back to the land that time forgot
To ring that mission bell

On a collision course with a shooting star
A fireball across my nighttime sky
That bears an angel of hope and mercy
To spread her wings, teach me to fly

These walls aren't really fortified
And though they may stand tall
All it takes is someone to know
Which brick will make them fall

These walls aren't really fortified
And though they may stand tall
All it takes is someone to know
Which brick will make them fall

On a collision course with a shooting star
A fireball across my nighttime sky
That bears an angel of hope and mercy
To spread her wings, teach me to fly
