Fire And Wine
by John Michael Ray

In the middle of the night
Looking over to your side
See you soundly sleeping
Wondering what's inside
As you drift from dream to dream
Slightly stirring on the way
What is it you're dreaming of
And what stands in your way

As you're talking your sweet talk
Is it easier well rehearsed
I have to give you credit
You're sounding so well versed
As you're walking that sweet walk
Are you careful where you tread
You've got to cover up your tracks
Beware the wings you spread

How this all got started
Twas something so divine
One thing led to another
Fire and wine
Cue scene one, a passion play
You bring yours and I'll bring mine
All roads lead to Heaven
Fire and wine

We both know how this ends
How 'bout one more for the road
A one night, lifetime of freedom
From this burden, from the load
As we say our fond farewell
Until we meet again
We back away so slowly
Our eyes fixed until the end

How this all got started
Twas something so divine
One thing led to another
Fire and wine
Cue scene one, a passion play
You bring yours and I'll bring mine
All roads lead to Heaven
Fire and wine

As we talk without a sound
As we feel without a touch
As we kiss without a taste
As we hold without a clutch
As we cry without a tear
As we chill without the cold
As we love without a heart
As we live without a soul

How this all got started
Twas something so divine
One thing led to another
Fire and wine
Cue scene one, a passion play
You bring yours and I'll bring mine
All roads lead to Heaven
Fire and wine
