I was recently accepted by SOCAN, The Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada. Their purpose is to act:
"As a collective for the performing rights of our members - the creators and publishers of music - we make sure they get paid for the public performance and communication to the public of their music. We do that by collecting licence fees, as set by the Copyright Board of Canada, from anyone playing or broadcasting live or recorded music."
All of the original music and lyrics I write, record, demo, or play, have been placed on file with them. SOCAN # 6463952

This has definitely been a controversial article. There has been a bit of backlash from it. There has also been a lot of good come out of this piece of writing though. I didn't mean to offend anyone with this. I've learned the past year and a half to just tell it like it is. 99% of you took something from it.
I've written an article. Very self-indulgent too. With the help of some very dear friends, and some heavy duty drugs, I've been able to keep my head above water. This is a short story about what should be really important to people. If only one person gets something out of this, then that is amazing. Hopefully more will though. I don't usually post someone else's lyrics. But lately I've been listening to a singer, who I think writes some of the most amazing stuff. Gary Allan is a wizard with words. There is one song in particular that I really like, and really feel. Hope you like it as well.

4 more older songs have been added to the 'The Word Page'. That brings the total to 21. It sure is funny looking over some of the really old songs. As I have time, I will dig the hand written notes out of the old binders and post them there. It gives me a chance to update/rewrite them somewhat.

I guess you could call this a 'state of the union' address of sorts. It has been a long 6 months in my life, and I'm doing fine. I've written an article of thoughts. Maybe not some of the words your used to me writing, but it's something I thought of Saturday morning at work.

Recently, while trolling through Facebook, I came across a girl who I had been in a grade 10 class with in high school. While I apologetically only have a vague memory of this person from back then, it seems she had taken away with her, a very strong memory of this encounter.
