News At Eleven
by John Michael Ray

"Life," They said for the man
Who left the body in a garbage can
She say, "The voices they tell me how"
I got do them in here and now
He pleads, "Sir I didn't see the red light"
See he's been drinking and he's feeling all right
Now there's a body in the body bag
And it's all going on, and we all see it happen

On the News at Eleven
Eleven O'clock, do you know where your kids are
News at Eleven
Is it any wonder we never seem to get far
News at Eleven
Safe in your bed, you're watching on your T.V.
News at Eleven
I just want to be free

There's a coup going on down there
We'll use the BOMB, everybody can share
Maybe Martial Law will keep them in line
Well, our society calls it doing time
Feel the earth quaking out on the coast
There's no one left, where they felt it the most
So now there's bodies in the body bags
And it's all going on, and we can all see it happen
